Sidi Bullet

Sidi Bullet
This third generation model in Sidi's Synchros collection finds this stealth synthetic leather and silver mesh shoe a snug fit. The three Velcro closures keep the Bullet always wrapped tight. These slick slippers won't slow you down on minor adjustments. I bet when you get really good you'll be able to pull all three straps tight at once and say "YO, are you ready yet, punk?" However, the lack of toe protection is just plain scary. The performance sole was big and studly and the extra padding around the rim and heel cup was thoughtful. The leather didn't breathe exceptionally well, but did wrap my feet like my leather lederhosen. When they're dry, they're light and supa-silvah fly, and seem to weather well.

Who The Shoe Fits: The cross-country rider looking to shed some bulk and who prefers a slipper over a steel toe. Any biker that's all about Velcro.

Setback: ~$149

Features: Velcro tri-strap system, studly performance sole, super-slick, silver side panels and a tough black heel cup.

Factors: The leather was cozy, but became a concern once wet. We soaked 'em and rode in wetsuit booties for the rest of the ride.

Tongue 'n Groove: This shoe was designed along the long lines of Sidi history: all Italian. No need for much hype, shucks, that's probably why Sidi hasn't even changed the name in three years!
