Cannondale Arago

Cannondale Arago
This here is a fresh impression on the old mold. Last year, Cannondale realized something that many companies didn't. They saw the want for running sneakers for casual wear. Cannondale adapted that old style to this new SPD compatible shoe and what we got is the fit and look of a running/cross training sneaker, but on a stiffer sole — a little too stiff to run in.

Who The Shoe Fits: A cross-training junkie who goes from a hike to cyclocross to mountain biking all in an afternoon, someone not willing to change shoes between biker and pedestrian mode. Or someone with a slacker excuse for a job who gets to wear sneakers to work. (I know what you're thinking and I'm in my socks right now, baby!)

Setback: ~$100

Features: The newest in sneaker style. Sole just stiff enough. Nylon never rusts, style never sleeps. The whole lacing system works well. The loops have elastic runners that help for an even pull regardless of where you're pulling. The heel loop reflects, too.

Factors: If you like a lot of stiffness, this shoe ain't for you. If you like your gym shoes to clip in and become riding shoes, these are just-a-waiting for you.

Tongue 'n Groove: They might look good, but they offer little in the way of protection from the forces of nature (i.e., rocks, puddles, stumps).
