Find Mountains by County:

Other than our remote 49th state, California has the highest quantity of mountains in the U.S. It also has some of the highest. Mt. Whitney at 14,498 is the highest of California’s Fourteeners and even stands taller than all of the 53 Colorado Fourteeners. Then there is Mt. Shasta which is the only California summit above 14,000 feet that is not in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Shasta is second tallest of the volcanoes in the Cascade Range which stretches north into Oregon and Washington (only Mt. Rainier is higher and just slightly). There are 5,600 mountains in California on MountainZone. We also map all of the ridges, cliffs, rock arches, and pillars (think rock towers).
