Hello Mountain Zone, this is Stephen Koch calling on the 21st of February, year 2000. I am calling from atop the Shuleykin and it is beautiful out right now. I'm looking at the not-quite-full moon. It's fairly clear out; there's plenty of stars out tonight.

We were in Paradise Bay today where we climbed a route that was about 1,090 [meters] to 1,100 [meters] and it was steep snow. It went up to a beautiful point, overlooking all of Paradise Bay, and I believe it was the first ascent. And what we are going to do is call that Tina Point, after my girlfriend Tina Flowers. With me on that ascent was Jared Stackman and other people were with us but they decided not to go on to the top. It got pretty deep: the snow got pretty deep and it got quite steep. So, the other people, not on snowboards, decided to turn around. And it was excellent turns, it was gorgeous views. We are on...today was our eighth day of skiing and snowboarding here on the Antarctic Peninsula.

Right now we are en route to Neko Bay, which will be our last day of climbing and snowboarding and skiing. Then we'll be heading back through the Drake Passage for two days. That's about it. I'm going to give the weather from here. It is about 34°. The wind is about 29mph. The humidity direction is variable; humidity is about 40%. I'm at about 20m altitude because I'm up on top of the boat here, the ship. Today's climb and descent was approximately 1,090m. Hours of daylight are about 17 now. Barometric pressure is 1000.3. Again, we're heading to Neko Bay from Paradise Bay.

Everything is fantastic and sort of sad that this trip is winding down, because it's been fantastic and I don't really want it to end, other than to get home and see family and friends. But that's about it. Thanks again Mountain Zone and ANI, and we'll talk to you later, bye-bye.
