Hi Mountain Zone, this is Rick Hunt from the Antarctic Peninsula Cruise/Climb trip. We are currently leaving the Shetland Islands where we skied our first peak. It was about 1,000-feet up and it was fairly good conditions. The snow was corn-like: frozen corn on top of glacier snow. And the conditions were medium steepness, but enough to raise our spirits in that it was our first skiing. But now we are headed out to sea again and we're heading south to hook up with the main Peninsula.

The temperature is 38° Fahrenheit; the winds are out of the west at about 12 knots; the wind-chill is 38° Fahrenheit; humidity is 70; there's about 18-19 hours of daylight; barometric pressure is 8/10 of an inch; GPS has us at 62.23 latitude/58.34 longitude; location [Unintelligible].

I would like to wish everybody a happy Valentine's Day today, especially my wife Kim and my two boys who I miss dearly. Take care everyone and so long from Antarctica.

Rick Hunt, MountainZone.com Corespondent
