Look around in Rocky Mountain National Park and chances are you will catch a glimpse of Longs Peak. Towering over the jagged expanse of RMNP, Longs Peak takes the crown for the highest peak in the park. The summit of Longs Peak is only accessible to climbers; there is no hiking access. The famous Keyhole Route traverses sheer rock faces, narrow ledges, and jagged cliffs. It is not for the unroped or faint of heart. Winter conditions are common even in the heart of summer, so be sure you are experienced with alpine climbing before attempting the summit. Or, hire one of the many guides around Boulder or Estes Park to help you reach the summit safely. If you do make it to the top, be prepared for one of the most outstanding panoramas in Colorado.
