Hello Mountain Zoners this is Vern Tejas with Alpine Ascents Mount Everest Expedition 2002. We trudged through a beautiful winter snow scene all the way up to Lobuche. And on the way we were treated to fantastic panoramic views of the high Himalaya. Everything was snow covered and standing up beautiful. We are currently now camped at 4,000 feet [connection interrupted].

Hello cybernauts, this is Vern Tejas with Alpine Ascents Mount Everest Expedition 2002. Today was a day of rest. We laid around and ate food and drank and just generally got acclimatized. Everybody is in great spirits now. We did a little bit of a hike, a couple hours up, and we could actually see the tents at base camp some six, seven miles away.
So hopefully tomorrow we're going to be able to roll on up, use the good weather early in the morning. We're going to get a real early start and get up there before the afternoon snows set in. We're looking forward to finally getting to the base of the mountain and, believe you me, that's when the trip really begins. Stay tuned and we'll check with you guys in the morning. Bye Bye.
