Psyched for the Peaks Thursday, February 10, 2000
LISTEN: [RealPlayer] [Windows Media] Download a FREE media player to listen. Hello Mountain Zone, this is Stephen Koch with the Antarctic Peninsula Climb and Cruise, from Ushuaia, Argentina. We've just arrived about an hour-and-a-half ago, after about 30-and-a-half hours of travel. It was mostly cloudy when we flew in to Ushuaia, so we didn't really get to see what was going on. But...Stoup who were ahead of us said he saw great looking peaks right outside of Ushuaia, so that got us all fired up to get on the ship tomorrow and then set sail through the Drake Passage on our way to the Peninsula. Let me just tell you what's going on with the weather. The temperature is 61° Fahrenheit. The wind speed is...direction ...wind-chill...62.1 ..humidity 56%, altitude 58....you in Seattle there, I imagine. Elevation climb and descent is zero...that doesn't count because...hours of daylight there are many it's about, almost 9 o'clock and it's very, very light out. We'll have to...is great...everyone is psyched to hang out...[transmission fails]. Stephen Koch, MountainZone.com Corespondent
