Mountain biking in Park City is an attractive lifestyle; a mix of geared-up dirt and chi-chi trappings which blend nicely in the beautiful Wasatch mountain range. Surrounding the many shops selling t-shirts and prints of our two-wheeled sport is a naive atmosphere of temperance and state control. It’s a dichotomy not lost on the thousands of riders, fans and industry types who descended on this alpine haven for yet another week of NCS action.

The NORBA racing circus rolled into this picturesque town last weekend as the U.S. championship heated up for its latest set of races. Hosted by Team Big Bear and the Deer Valley Resort, this stop on the tour always provides exciting racing on its steep slopes - under ever-changing weather. This weekend was no different as the town hosting the 2002 winter olympics put on a good show for several thousand spectators.

Saturday featured Downhill and Dual Slalom racing while Sunday was packed with Cross Country action. The downhill event was dominated by Mongoose’s orange super-heroes as Lopes and Donovan repeated their habit of his and hers wins. Then on Sunday British climber Tim Gould crushed for the first time in a long while and Ruthie Matthes continued her quest for a second national championship.
