Heading for Kahiltna Sunday, June 18, 2000
Hi there folks Scott Darsney here reporting for the Mountain Zone. We are getting down off the mountain here, we just set up a little bivy camp at about 9,300ft on the way out to the air strip. We had a great day there up high and now we are getting down back to the lowlands waiting for beer and pizza. It's snowing fairly heavily here and I'm not sure if planes are going to fly or not anyway, so we are headed down a little bit slower than usual and taking in the scenery on the lower Kahiltna here. And tomorrow some time we should be on the air strip and if the clouds will part we'll get out. This may or may not be the last dispatch, but it's been fun giving you briefings on the conditions here on Denali. Hopefully the crevasses will be minimized and the trail will be in good condition this time. Anyway, Scott Darseny for Mountain Zone signing off.
