Stage 4 is a high-speed blitz. We do a quick ascent, 600 meters or
so, followed by a gradual descent on to the next ridge. We ride aside a
high Jeep road above a lake and then descend to the reservoir top. Kurt
and I pick up the pace and find ourselves racing by orchards and farms. Some of the descents feel like we are on a Formula One course as we snake along the valley floor at high speed. The finial climb is
gradual and we do our best stay on pace. A rapid dirt road descent,
pavement, and then the drafting train forms as we make a mad dash to the
finish line.
