A Park Bridging Two Nations

Glacier National Park straddles the U.S. and Canadian border in Northwest Montana. It is a land of glacially carved mountain ranges, jade colored alpine lakes, alpine meadows and prairie grasslands; home to a spectacular mixture of wildlife. From grizzlies to wolves, from mountain goats to bighorn sheep, from bald eagles to black bear, the park abounds in a range of species that once covered a great portion of the Western United States and Canada.

In 1895 Waterton Provincial Park was established, and in 1910 Glacier National Park was formed.
