Good Morning Mountain Zone. I'm calling you at about 7:30 in the morning from the national park viewpoint just above Namche. It's about a five or 10 minute walk from our home base in Namche to Panorama Lodge. You come up here and look at Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and look all around at the Khumbu here and kind of let it sink in that we're finally where we've dreamed about being for so long.

We had a good walk up the infamous Namche Hill yesterday and this particular group did really well on it, no big problems. It's long, you feel it, they did it in good order.

Today is our 'get familiar with Namche' day. We're going to go down to the bazaar, down to the market. A number of expedition people are in town, our friends, Sherpas. And we're just going to kind of make a scene, be social, relax and, of course, as this goes on we're going to be acclimatizing.

Tomorrow morning is market day in Namche, it's Saturday. You've probably heard about that. Namche is a market town and it all happens on Saturday. So before we head out to Thame we're going to do what people from all over the Khumbu are doing — we're going to visit the market tomorrow morning. They're all coming in from all directions today. They'll spend the night in Namche and by 7 o'clock tomorrow morning there'll be quite the scene down there at the market and we'll be there.

After we check it out, we'll head out to Thame. So our adventure is underway. Our entire group is standing up here in the sun as it comes up over Thamserku Peak and everybody's taking photographs of me talking on the phone and we're getting ready to go down and see what the Sherpas have cooked for breakfast. Talk to you tomorrow from the market maybe.
