At Camp I on the East Ridge East Ridge Camp I - Saturday, July 8, 2000
Hello, this is Walter Keller of the Mustagh Ata East Ridge Expedition. We're sitting at about 5300 - 5400 meters at Camp I on the East Ridge, sitting in a bit of a storm. It's in the evening at about 9 o'clock. We're in the tent: Jon Otto, Dan, myself, Anne and, we've been up probably to about 5800 meters. We looked at the route a little bit; it looks pretty promising. Tomorrow we're going to hopefully depart early to climb if this storm clears out tonight. That's all for now. Yang wants to say a few words. Yang Li Qun: Hello, my name is Yang Li Qun and I'm a member of the [Unintelligible] Mountaineering and Exploring Association, and I'm 29 years old, and I feel good. Walter Keller: What have you been doing here? Yang Li Qun: I don't know, I'm sitting in the tent, cooking and talking about each other. Walter Keller: How do you feel? Yang Li Qun: I feel very well. Walter Keller: Are you tired? Yang Li Qun: Yeah, a little bit, but I'm alright. Walter Keller: Okay, say thank you. Yang Li Qun: Thank you.
