Position of Teams Monday, June 5, 2000
Hi this is Matt Szundy, Alpine Ascents expedition facilitator and climbing guide, reporting from Denali in Alaska. We currently have five teams on the mountain. Tom Bridge and Charles Hseih should be descending to Base Camp tonight, after a long and successful summit bid the day before yesterday, all but one summitted on that team after a 16-hour day. Scott Darsney and Luis Benitez will be arriving at Medical Camp, 14.2, tomorrow, with their six clients. They will have a rest day before the headwall carry to 16.2. Mike Roberts and David Morton are at Camp I with their two clients. Vern Tejas and Allen Carbert are at Base Camp with their six. So are Jim Williams...[Unintelligible]...the weather's been bluebird for five days now, with many people summitting. I look forward to giving you an update tomorrow for the upper mountain. This is Matt Szundy, Mountain Zone correspondent...[Unintelligible]...broadcasting from the edge of the world at 14.2, take care.
