"We got up at 1 o'clock (am) last night and we just summitted and the time is 9:05 local time..."
Hello Mountain Zoners, this is Vern Tejas with Alpine Ascents' Team Tired But Happy on top of the continent of Africa. We're on top of a little peak right now with 5,895 meters above mean sea level and we are exhausted and we are very happy.

The reason we are happy is because our upward down journey has now come to completion and we're headed down and going on safari.

Everybody is just a little tuckered out from the long, long haul. We got up at 1 o'clock (am) last night and we just summitted and the time is 9:05 local time. There's a huge glacier just to the south of us and also way across the caldera, we can see the northern glaciers as well. It's a beautiful day, sunny, calm, shooting stars at night and beautiful Meru Peak off to the west.

Thanks for joining us and ciao for now. here's the P.S.'s.

Hello Katie, Elizabeth, Jordan and Nora from George. Hello Nicholas and Katherine and Anastasia, love John. [Jean leaves a message to family in French). This is Eric, I love all my family and friends in Phoenix and Portland. This is Bob, hello _interrupted] .... Love Katie and Molly and Kathy from Tim. This is Sam...

Okay, that's it from the summit of Kilimanjaro.
