Kirsten Clark Exclusive Interview
Questions by Manuèle Lang:
Kirsten, how do you feel after your first victory here at Lenzerheide?
Kirsten Clark:
I'm definitely excited. It's a great day for me. I don't know, I can't put into words how I feel.
Lang:
How did you imagine your first victory? Did you think it could be here?
Clark:
You never imagine one place more than another. It's fantastic it finally happened. I imagined this victory more in super G than in downhill because it's more technical, but I'm more than satisfied with this result - how could it be different?!
Lang:
You skied very aggressively.
Clark:
Yes, I had to do that. I felt confident and let my skis go down by themselves. I managed the key turns, so I knew that my final time was not as bad as in the past events.
Lang:
Were you pleased by your training runs?
Clark:
Not really, we had only two training runs. I wanted to train a little bit more. I didn't really know the slope or the snow conditions. Compared with the today's run, it was completely different, so it's just a question of confidence.
Lang:
I imagine you appreciated the conditions you had during your run?
Clark:
Yes, for sure, I started with the bib No. 5 and the sun was out, which was good for me.
Lang:
You've had a few good results this season?
Clark:
I improved my rankings this season, and I had some consistent results these past months in super G and in downhill. I'm satisfied.
Lang:
Does this victory change anything for you?
Clark:
For sure. Mentally, it changes a lot. I knew that I could win races, but it's nice to confirm it in such a way. It makes you more confident, but every race is different so let's see what's next.
Lang:
In tomorrow's super G, will you be more confident?
Clark:
Like all the time I will give 100%. I will have a little more confidence, but my concentration and my motivation will be as high as usual.
