Resort Information

Sun Valley's airport (SUN) is located 13 miles south in Hailey. Boise (BOI) is three hours by drive. Twin Falls (TWF) is a two hour drive.

The resort was founded by Averell Harriman and the Union Pacific Railroad in 1936. The resort is made up of two ski mountains and four boroughs. Dollar Mountain is a excellent training mountain with smooth open slopes. At the base of Dollar sits the boroughs of Sun Valley Village and Elkhorn. One mile across the flat valley floor is Bald Mountain or Baldy. Here you will find long continuous fall lines with a variety of different facing slopes. At the base of Baldy you will find the towns of Ketchum and Warm Springs.

Area Accommodations

KART - Ketchum Area Rapid Transit: Is the free bus service that circulates throughout Warm Springs, Ketchum, River Run, Sun Valley Village and Elkhorn to all lift areas. The service also operates late into the evening.

Ketchum
Lodging properties are in the town of Ketchum about 8 Blocks to the River Run lifts of Baldy.
Best Western Kentwood Lodge (*** / 7Blks / SR / HT / P / S) - Built in 1994 this hotel is on Main Street in Ketchum close to all the amenities of town. Each spacious hotel unit has a king or two queen beds, small refrigerator, color TV and coffee maker. There is an espresso shop at the hotel and suites are available. Non-smoking hotel.
Ketchum Area Condominiums - Are located throughout town.

River Run
These properties and condos are within walking distance to the lifts of River Run (approx. 4 blocks).
Cristophe Hotel (*** /L-4Blks / SR / HT / P) - Each hotel unit has one king or two twin beds, private bath and color TV. The condominium units have full kitchens with microwave, fireplace and color TV. Seven night minimum stay, regular season (3 nights pre and post season).
Best Western Tyrolean Lodge (** / 4Blks / SR / P / HT / S) - This property is located within walking distance of the lifts and downtown Ketchum. Each hotel unit has one queen or king bed, or two queen beds and color TV. There are some suites available. Packages include a champagne breakfast each day.

Warm Springs
Condominium properties are within walking distance to the Warm Springs lifts of Baldy.
Heidelberg Lodge (** / 1.5Mi / SR / HT / S) - This lodge is located on the Warm Springs Road. Each hotel unit has one or two queen beds, units with kitchenettes and fireplaces are available. Each unit has a color TV with VCR and packages include a continental breakfast each day.
Warm Springs Area Condos - Example: Edelweiss, Prospector, Sawtooth, Greyhawk and International Village.

Sun Valley Village
Properties are 1-1/2 miles from Mt. Baldy, near Dollar Mountain - free shuttle to other areas.
Sun Valley Lodge (**** / SR / HT / P / S / R / B), Sun Valley Inn (*** / SR / HT / P / S / R / B) - The Lodge and Inn are the focal points of Sun Valley Village. The Lodge was recently renovated to reflect the 30's era of elegant good taste. The Lodge has two swimming pools, jacuzzi, ice rink, two restaurants, lounge, bar, and a bowling alley. Both hotels offer standard, medium, deluxe and family suites. Packages include airport transfers.
Village Area Condominiums - Example: Atelier, Cottonwood, Dollar Meadows, Snowcreek, Villager and Wildflower.

Elkhorn
Properties are 2-1/2 miles from Mt. Baldy, 1 mile from Sun Valley Village.
Elkhorn Lodge (**-*** / L-3Mi / SR / H / S / R / B) - The Lodge is the focal point of the Elkhorn area. Each hotel unit has one or two queen beds, color TV and private bath. They also offer their own complimentary shuttle system to the airport and lifts in addition to the KART service provided.
