Location

The Big Mountain is located in northwest Montana 7 miles from Whitefish, 22 from Kalispell and 35 miles from Glacier National Park.

Resort Information

The resort offers excellent skiing with continuous fall line slopes. The village, while small, offers a very welcome Montana flavor where the people are friendly and the rates are reasonable.

And, from Seattle or Portland and Minneapolis / St. Paul we have the "Famous Ski Train". Popular for over 20 years, what a great way to get to the Mountain!

Alpine Village

The Alpinglow Inn ( ** / L-20Yds / HT / S / R) - The Inn is located across from the Hell Roaring Chairlift. Each unit has a private bath, color TV, telephone, queen bed and two twin beds. Some units have an additional set of bunks in the unit. The property offers a 24 hour front desk, and fireplace lobby. A meal package including breakfast and dinner is available at the hotel.

Bitterroot ( *** / L-20Yds / HT / LF ) - This complex is located along chair #3 and offers versatile one bedroom condos each with two baths, gas fireplace, color TV with VCR, full kitchen with microwave and dishwasher plus a washer and dryer. There is a queen bed, set of bunks and a murphy bed. Non Smoking property.

Edelweiss ( *** / L-20Yds / HT / S) - Located across from the Hell Roaring chairlift this property features hotel units plus studio, one and two bedroom condominiums. Each has a full kitchen with microwave, fireplace and color TV.

Hibernation House ( * / L-150Yds / HT / LF) - This property has a guest lobby with fireplace, recreation room, TV and video games. Each room has one queen size bed and a set of bunk beds and shower. Packages include a full breakfast. This is a great budget property for groups.

Kandahar Lodge ( *** / L-75Yds / HT / S / R / B / LF ) - This deluxe 48 room lodge located above Chair #6 offering access to the ski resort base area and offers a ski trail back to the hotel. Kandahar has a beautiful lobby area, ski and heated boot storage. Each room has two queen beds, loft units with three queen beds (one possibly a hide-a-bed), color TV and private bath. Kitchen units, one bedroom suites and a meal plan including breakfast and dinner are available.

Sherpa ( *** / L-75Yds / HT / P ) - This complex is located next to the small grocery store and has the only swimming pool on the mountain. Each studio to two bedroom with loft condo has a full kitchen with microwave and dishwasher, color TV with VCR, fireplace, washer and dryer.

Woodrun ( *** / L-I/O ) - Located at the entrance to the resort this complex is on the Going Home ski run. Each 3 and 4 bedroom, duplex unit, has a full kitchen with microwave, gas fireplace and color TV with VCR. This is a NON-SMOKING property.

Downtown Whitefish

Good Medicine Lodge, Bed and Breakfast ( *** / L-6Mi / SR / HT/ LF ) - Located 1/2 mile from Whitefishtoward the ski resort, this new Bed and Breakfast Lodge features 9 deluxe units each with private bath, most with queen beds. Breakfast plus Amtrak, airport and daily resort transfers are included in packages.

Grouse Mountain Lodge ( *** / L-8Mi / SR / HT / P / R / B) - Located west of Whitefish, along the Whitefish Golf Club (Touring Center), the hotel offers nightly entertainment and card room. Each room has color TV, coffee maker and king or two queen beds. Suites are available with private jacuzzi or kitchenette. All ski packages include daily transfers to The Big Mountain and rail depot, airport transfers.

Pine Lodge -B ( ** / L-8Mi / SR / HT / P) - This Quality Inn property is located 6 blocks from downtown Whitefish near the mall, Safeway and a number of restaurants. Each unit has two queen or one king bed, private bath and color TV. Continental breakfast and resort transfers are included.

Rocky Mountain Lodge -B - ( ** / L-8Mi / SR / HT / P) - This Best Western property is located south of downtown near a number of restaurants and shopping. Each spacious unit has one or two queen beds. Some units have wet bars, microwaves or jacuzzi tubs. The hotel has a outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, weight room and meeting space. Packages include a continental breakfast each morning. The offer van transfers to the ski resort, airport and train station.
