![]() ![]() Hello Mountain Zone, this is Doug Stoup with the Antarctica Ski and Snowboard Expedition, for December 18th, Saturday. We are still stuck in Patriot Hills. Spent most of the last couple of days taking 24-hour shifts driving snow blowers, cleaning the blue ice runway. The winds are still high, so the Herc that leaves at 1:30 can't get here till the winds drop a little bit. We've been getting out digging and ski touring Newcomb traverse, the whole Patriot Hills. Doug Coombs has been doing some runs on the hill, same with Dirk and Wade, taking photographs of course and Koch has been the first person to ever kite sail on a snowboard. Some Belgian friends have some kite sails, and he actually strapped them on to a little harness, you throw up the kite and you actually snowboard across the plains when the winds are strong, which they are. So he's the first person ever to do that, and we're still keeping our spirits high, hopefully trying to get off of this continent and get back for the holidays. Hope you're all still following us and we'll talk to you soon. Thank you very much, and have a great day. Bye.
