 Mt Bona descent After skiing from the summit of Mt. Bona in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, my friend pauses to admire the evening scene. We had broken an exposed camp high on the mountain to look for more sheltered accomodations 5,000 ft. below. Unfortunately, the entire slope below us was armed with breakable crust that trapped our skis below the surface making turning nearly impossible. After a few stormy days we were rewarded with great powder skiing and no lift lines in sight. |
