The Dual Slalom event was held under partly sunny skies and attracted thousands of fans to its side-by-side format. The women’s race pitted world cup champion Katrina Miller of Australia and U.S. downhill champion Leigh Donovan. Miller won the event after Donovan crashed in the final run, while Cheri Elliott beat Tara Llanes in the consolation round.

Men’s Dual Slalom racing went to Mike King who eliminated and beat the high flying David Cullinan after Cullinan slipped a pedal at the top of the course. Both riders hail from Southern California and used their jumping and BMX skills to beat a large field of men. In the consolation round, mountain biking legend John Tomac of Colorado beat "The Swede with Speed," Johan Engström to take third place for the day.
