Footwear
[ ] Light hiking boots.
[ ] Climbing boots.* Double plastic boots. Avoid tight fit with heavy socks. Suggested: Koflach Viva Softs.
[ ] Crampons.* Step-in bindings. Suggested: Grivel Step-Ins, Charlet Moser Rapid Fix.
[ ] Gaiters.* Expedition gaiters with cordura on the inside. Suggested: Outdoor Research
[ ] Wool or pile socks. 2 pair heavy weight.
[ ] Silk liners. 2 pair lightweight. Optional.
[ ] Vapor barrier socks. Optional.

Climbing Tools
[ ] Ice Axe.* General mountaineering tool.
[ ] Carabiner. 1 locking.
[ ] Seat Harness.* Harness should fit over all clothing and have adjustable leg loops. Suggested: Black Diamond Alpine Harness.

Technical Clothing
[ ] Light weight underwear. 1 pair Polypro or Capaline.
[ ] Expedition weight Capaline top. [ ] Pile jacket & pants. 300 fleece with full side zips.
[ ] Down jacket. Medium weight with hood. Needs to fit over all insulation layers. Optional.
[ ] Gore-Tex shell top & bottom. Full side zips and bibs recommended. Suggested: North Face or Patagonia for all underwear and clothing.

Mitts and Gloves
[ ] Synthetic gloves. 1 pair Polypro or Capaline light to medium weight. Suggested: Patagonia.
[ ] Pile Mitts and Gor-Tex overmitts.* 1 pair.

Socks
[ ] Liner socks. 3 pair of thin socks made of smooth wool, nylon or polypropylene worn next to the skin. This reduces the incidence of blisters and hot-spots.
[ ] Outer socks. 3 pair of heavy socks made of wool or synthetic material. When layering socks, make sure they fit well over both feet and inside boots.

Headgear
[ ] Baseball cap.
[ ] Wool or pile ski hat.
[ ] Balaclava. 1 heavy weight, 1 light weight. Heavy weight should fit over light weight. Suggested: Patagonia.

[ ] Head lamp * (bulbs & 2 sets of batteries). Suggested: Petzl Zoom.
[ ] Glacier glasses. 100% UV & IR, must have side covers. Suggested: Bolle and Ray Ban.
[ ] Ski goggles. 100% UV & IR. Suggested: Bolle. Optional.

Camping Equipment
[ ] Backpack.* Internal frame pack 4,000 cu.in.
[ ] Daypack.* Optional for trekking days.
[ ] Sleeping bag.* Expedition quality to at least 200F.
[ ] Ridge Rest or Therma Rest sleeping pad.* 1 full length foam Ridge Rest or 3/4 or full length Therma Rest.
[ ] Swiss Army knife.
[ ] Plastic bowl, cup and spoon.
[ ] Water bottles. 2 1litre, wide-mouth.
[ ] Sunscreen. SPF 40, large tube.
[ ] Lipscreen. SPF 40, at least 2 sticks.
[ ] Personal first aid kit. Aspirin, Moleskin, Adhesive tape, Band-Aids. Suggested: Adventure Medical Kits.

Travel Gear
[ ] Large duffel bag. For transporting gear.
[ ] Compression stuff sacks. Optional.
[ ] Travel clothes. Include 1 pair of hiking shorts.
[ ] Toiletry bag. Include toilet paper.
[ ] Camera gear. Film, flash, batteries, etc. Optional.
