Iiro was the winner of the 24 World Rogaining Championships in 1998 and won the European Championships in 1997. Iiro has finished almost 200 wilderness competitions in Finland and has won 80% of them. He has toured around the world twice in numerous expeditions including Himalayan snow treks and working in Sudan and Nepal. He is an avid mountaineer, horseback rider, runner, and competes in lake kayaking, 24-hour endurance skiing and ski-orienteering competitions.
