Calonica Crossing the Border Thursday, August 28, 1997 (Nepal/Tibet border) [Click to hear the sat-phone call.] Transcript: Hi, this is Craig Calonica and it is the 28th. We are at the border of Kodari and Zongdu: the Chinese/Tibetan border and Nepalese border. We left Kathmandu this morning around 7:00 and are on our way. We'll be staying at hopefully Tingri tomorrow night and then the next day we should be at Everest basecamp. Since we're acclimatized we're driving straight on through.
