Hi, this is Jon Otto calling from the Mustagh Ata East Ridge new route expedition. We're all here in our tent exhausted after a long day — Dan Mazur, Walter Keller, and myself — a long day of climbing up the arrowhead.

It's about 11:30pm, local time, we're just completely exhausted and ready to go to bed. So we'll be sending you some photos tomorrow. A lot of technical climbing, real shitty snow and rock — snow and rock and ice — and we finally made it from our Camp I.

We're now up here, we call it the "Arrowhead" camp, somewhere between 5800 meters and 6100 meters — we're not quite sure. Yang Li Qun, our Chinese member, came up with us part way and saw us off and that was great. He and Anne are down at Camp I where they'll probably spend a couple days. It was strange weather today: sort of a low clouds, snow off and on, and a little sun. It's cloudy right now.

Hopefully, it will be great tomorrow, we'll wake up early, and continue up the ridge. The ridge looks pretty knife edge, but we'll find out. Right now, we're perched on the ridge. It took us over an hour to make our tent platform and still our tent doesn't fit completely; it's sort of falling off one end. So we'll curl up in the tent tonight and see what tomorrow has to offer.

I think that's all for now, looking forward to sending you some great photos tomorrow. Good night everyone, we're exhausted, we're going to bed. Good night, have a great day.
