I think it was Greg Child who once wrote about "the Worm," an idea for a new route that just gets in your head and won't leave. Well, that has been the theme here in our new camping spot as we are surrounded by huge, mystifying peaks— mostly unclimbed. Last night it snowed, and this morning we sat around watching avalanches careen off the surrounding peaks. This place is dynamic and full of huge ideas.

I have now been on the Kuksay Glacier for about six days. Yesterday, we were finally met by the rest of our team. We are still in the process of ferrying our gear up here— the terrain has been pretty rocky, with an occasional turquoise lake or a small green pasture. Surprisingly, most of the snow and ice lays ahead of us. Since the weather is great today — really warm — I think I might have to brave the freezing glacial runoff and go take my first bath in... I won't say how long!
