Hi, this is Daniel Mazur, I'm calling in for the Mustagh Ata First Ascent team. I'm calling on May [June] 1, it's 7 o'clock in the morning over here. I'm in Amritsar, India. We had a really good trip across India. We're just about to cross the border of Pakistan this morning. We'll be entering Pakistan at the Laga border and going to Lahore.

We left Nepal, we left Kathmandu, on the night of May 29th. Took a night bus down to the border with India. Crossed the border with India at the town of Bhairawa and Sonauli. Then we took a bus on to Gorakhpur in India and grabbed a train and we took an express train across India, starting on the afternoon of the 30th of May and we arrived here in Amritsar late last night on the 31st of May.

We're all really tired. There's three of us: there's Walter Keller, Lakpa Tamang and myself, Daniel Mazur. Got here late last night on the 31st, and, you know, crawled into the hotel and crashed out. Very tired, etc., Lot of baggage, we had 18 bags on the train and the buses, which made for some interesting arguments. I took a lot of photos and have kept some really detailed notes and Walter has been keeping a diary as well, so we'll be transmitting some photos to you, hopefully this afternoon or this evening if all goes well.

We should be in Rawalpindi, which is the same as Islamabad, just a sister city or an adjoining city to Islamabad. We should be in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, this afternoon or early evening if all goes well, hopefully. And I'll be in touch.

Right now it's beautiful weather out here. We haven't had too much of the monsoon. We had thought we would be getting a lot more. It hasn't hardly rained. It's been very hot and especially in the days between about noon and four it's quite hot. But it cools down a bit in the evening and it's really lovely out in the evening.

Right now our hotel is kind of above one of the busy streets in Amritsar. A lot of scooters coming and going and bicycles and traffic. Looks like the city is just waking up. A bit hazy today, but there's lots of trees around and small houses with gardens, kind of mixed in with the city. It's really lovely.

And this is the home of the Sikh people, where the men where the turbans, so there's lots of the Sikh people around. They've been extremely welcoming and friendly to us. So we're super glad to be here and looking forward to sending some more transmissions and voicemail and text, hopefully this evening.

Thank you very much. That's all for now, this is Dan signing out. Bye.
