Argentina Takes 15th Sunday, July 23, 2000
Hey you guys, this is Rebecca Rusch from Team Argentina and I'm calling in. The race is over, finished it up, and we're all worked. We're eating pizza and taking naps and sorting through all the millions of gear that got mixed up with everybody else's. It was a super hard, super fun race. You know, we had navigation stuff — we had five flat tires. What else? All sorts of things. You know, but despite it all, we finished 15th and had a really good time. It was quite interesting. The language barrier definitely sort of reared its ugly head a couple times with calling commands in the kayak and talking about navigation issues and, you know, things like that. It definitely was not as clear as it would have been if you were speaking the same language, but I did learn a few new words in Spanish and had a killer time with these guys, they're really great racers and we had a blast.
