Hello friends and family of Alp 4, the Dozy Bonkers, this is Matt Szundy calling in from high camp on Denali at 17,200 feet. It's 11am here and it is overcast, very windy, and a very cold day up here at high camp. It's so cold that Erik Barnes, Mr. Antarctica, actually put his mitts on today for the first time on the entire expedition.

It's been about 0, but what what makes it worse is these 30-knot winds that make the temperature drop to -50 with the windchill.

"...the ridge between 16 and 17 is impassable above 40 knots ..."

So, needless to say, that's too cold for us for a summit bid. I'm going to catch a weather forecast this afternoon and make a decision whether to stay here, this is day 19 for us, and people are feeling [transmission fails] the ridge between 16 and 17 is impassable above 40 knots so we're a little concerned about ascending in this style.

So we'll make a decision and we;'ll definitely keep you posted and updates. So this is a cold Dozy Bonkers up here at high camp trying to stay warm.
