GameWorks Desert Dash
2000-2001 Schedule Announced

The GameWorks Desert Dash consists of three to seven miles of trail running, eight to 15 miles of mountain biking, a "Secret" revolving third discipline that can be anything from kayaking, in-line skating, orienteering, swimming or other. There will be eight to 15 "Mystery Challenges" placed throughout the course to keep things interesting. The distances, order of events and the third discipline will not be announced until the pre-race meeting Friday night. This race has been designed for the experience racer, weekend warrior and/or party animals.

The title sponsor is GameWorks of Las Vegas, by SEGA, founded by Steven Speilberg. GameWorks is located right on the strip adjacent to the MGM and across from New York - New York. The pre-race meetings and clinics will be held in the banquet room at GameWorks. The post-race party will be upstairs in the GameWorks bar. Lotus broadcasting along with Coca Cola and Fun & Fit Newspaper have become the cosponsors of the GameWorks Desert Dash adventure race series. Lotus broadcasting owns two of the most popular radio stations in Las Vegas, 92.3 KOMP Rock of Las Vegas, ESPN sports radio and have Nation wide affiliation. You will soon be hearing about the GameWorks Desert Dash on the airways.

2000-2001 SCHEDULE
Heat Wave 1: November 11th, 2000, 8am
Heat Wave 2: December 30th, 2000, 8am
Heat Wave 3: February 17th, 2001, 5pm (Night Race)
Heat Wave 4: March 17th, 2001, 8am
Heat Wave 5: April 21st, 2001, 8am
Heat Wave 6: May 12th, 2001 "Nevada State championship series final!" 8am

Bonus Special: There will be several bonuses for the season opener on November 11th.
1. You may enter in the "GameWorks" virtual adventure race on Friday night after the pre-race meeting. The winning team of the "GameWorks" virtual adventure race will receive a full season sponsorship for the Desert Dash. (Note: Some stipulations apply, but everyone entered will receive a prize.)
2. The Athletes Foot, Las Vegas, will pick one local team at the season opener to sponsor for the entire season. (Note: No previous adventure race experience necessary, just looking for a lot of personality.)
3. All military teams are free for the season opener.
4. With the $295 entry fee your team will receive, race entry, custom race numbers, T-shirts, finishers medal, "a whole lotta swag" in a "GameWorks" bag, buffet and free game play on Friday and Saturday nights, entertainment, race clinics, and "one hunka hunka whole lotta good time" as the "King" himself would say!
