Hill Country Adventure and Kisatchie Forest Adventure Challenges
20 OCT 2000

SouthWest Expedition & Adventure Racing, SWEAR, present the first ever Hill Country Adventure Challenge, a 15-24 hour long adventure race took place on October 20-22, 2000. SWEAR also present the first ever Kisatchie Forest Adventure Challenge, December 1-3, 2000, lasting 36-48 hours. Both races will incorporate extreme mountain biking, canoeing, an equestrian event, ropes course, and other "Special Events" not to be disclosed, over a course that will be entirely navigated by teams of four, using only topographical maps, compasses and UTM coordinates.

Being one of the leaders in expedition and adventure racing, SWEAR strives to provide longer and more difficult adventure races throughout the United States. In an effort to create the most unique races ever hosted, SWEAR brings new team concepts and new disciplines to the sport of adventure racing.

SWEAR's inaugural race was a huge success with two Eco-Challenge Sabah 2000 teams competing in and placing 1st and 2nd.

SWEAR is located in Houston, Texas. The two partners, Casey Hodges and Terry Muckleroy, both come from a racing background and try to offer the participants unique and original races.

The sport of adventure racing is rapidly growing and maturing. In an effort to enable this growth and maturing process, SWEAR focuses on 1-5 day long races. For additional information on SWEAR email the race organizers at swear@ev1.net or call (832) 654-0157.
