 | The team is racing on behalf of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of America. They adopted a patient "hero" named Emily Stone, who is a 5 year old currently in remission from the disease. The team is also racing in memory of Suzanne Dreebin-Wilensky, who passed away from leukemia. Captain Marc is a testicular cancer survivor who has been symptom-free and considered cured for 16 years. Marc plays the flute with the North Suburban Symphony Orchestra, and has studied the flute for over 32 years. Michael is a United States Postal Carrier, and is the first carrier to compete in the Eco-Challenge.

Daniel is an experienced athlete with a diverse skill set, who typically places in the top 5 percent of finishers in both running and multi-sport events. Daniel brings 20 years of backpacking, orienteering, and climbing (both rock and ice) to the team. He has made numerous canoe and kayak trips throughout the US, and has coastal, blue water, and celestial navigation experience. Daniel is also an experienced scuba diver and mountain biker.
