Patrick is a former Force Recon Marine, and a veteran of both Desert Storm and Somalia. While in the military, he took place in several deep reconnaissance and direct actions that involved performing 4-person, unsupported team missions.

OTHER: 2000 Endorphin Fix 2000 Mega-Dose Adventure Race Elias has trekked extensively throughout the world. In 1988, he trekked the Inca Trail in Peru. 1991 found him in the Vallecito Valley area of Colorado. In 1997, he trekked through the Bariloche area of Argentina, near the site of the 1999 Eco-Challenge. He also followed the Jomson Trail in Nepal in 1998.
