Patrick has extensive experience in river kayaking and has made several first descents throughout Idaho, Washington, and California. He has also made the first no paddle class VI descent on Big Falls on the Payette River and on Coyote Falls on the Clearwater River in Idaho. He has also made first descents of Warren Creek, Upper Little Salmon River, and Upper Hazard Creek in Idaho. In 1992, his team placed 3rd in the Sawtooth Relays, a 120-mile run through the mountains. Pat is and experienced Nordic skier and backcountry mountain runner.
