 | The team will be racing for charity in memory of Jay Lowe, their team manager, who passed away unexpectedly in January. Sarah is a mechanical engineering student, who helped design and build a human-powered submarine at the University of Washington. She is also one of the younger competitors in this year's race. Victor is a recovering alcoholic and addict, who's been sober for 10 years, since July 19,1990!

OTHER: 2000 Four Winds Adventure Race 2000 Raid the North 1999 Hi-Tec Adventure Race 1999 Sea 2 Summit. Sarah is an experienced sailor who has crewed races in Puget Sound, Lake Washington, and Vietnam. She recently climbed Mt. Rainier in Washington and Mt. Shasta in California, and skied off of both. Sarah has climbed extensively through the Western Coast and New England. She also enjoys biking, hiking, mountaineering, and soccer.

OTHER: For the past two years, Daniel has been affiliated with the Four Winds Adventure Race Company, running their course trials. He ran his first marathon in 1999. Daniel served in the Navy as a quartermaster (navigator), and excelled at search and rescue swimming. He currently works as a fire paramedic, and holds Rope Rescue Technician Level 3 and Swift Water Rescue Technician Level 2 certifications.
