The team is racing to benefit the Special Olympics, and hopes to raise $25,000 for the charity. William and Maureen add a family element to this team�they're brother and sister. Three members of this team are employees of the Booz-Allen & Hamilton Law Firm. Maureen founded and leads Booz-Allen's corporate Adventure Club, with over 200 members. Maureen earned her military jump wings, and has completed the Air Force's Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape and the Commando Warrior Training Courses. Kevin is an Army Green Beret with fifteen years of military experience, who serves as an operations NCO for US Army Special Forces, National Guard Status.

Maureen is an avid trail runner, mountain biker, kayaker, and rock climber. She's competed in over 100 road races, including the Colorado Trail 50k, Marine Corps Marathons, and the Pikes Peak Ascent. Maureen has trekked all over the world, taking extended backpacking trips in places like Thailand, Costa Rica, and Nepal. She also has experience mountain biking, and has raced in Ride of the Rockies, 24 Hours of Canaan, and the Wild 100km Backcountry Mountain Bike Race. Maureen currently is a land navigation instructor for the Sierra Club.

Kevin has extensive experience as a combat diver, with numerous open and closed circuit dives, often at night and in adverse conditions. He has experience in open water navigation, and has taught land navigation for the Special Forces Indoctrination Program. Kevin also has experience mountain biking, rock-climbing, whitewater canoeing, mountaineering, orienteering, sailing, and skiing.
