With their entry in last year's race, Team Turk became the first team from Turkey to compete in an Eco-Challenge. They hope to become the first Turkish team to officially finish in Borneo, having learned from their experiences last year.

Sedar won the 1993 Turkish University Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship in the 100+ kg weight division. In 1998, he place 3rd at the Camel Trophy International Trials in Sweden, winning the Navigation discipline and breaking the records in Physical Tasks. Sedar is an experienced mountaineer and horseback rider, and has years of experience in whitewater kayaking and climbing.

Zeynep is a member of the Turkish National Sailing Team, and holds various Turkish titles in windsurfing, water skiing, alpine skiing, and snowboarding. She is the only woman to reach the final 8 of the Turkish Camel Trophy qualifications. Zeynep was the Turkish Rafting Champion in 1998. She is also an experienced navigator.

Sinan is a former surface warfare officer and six wing helicopter pilot of the US Navy. He received an Outstanding Physical Achievement Award and finished first in his Navy Aviation Candidate School. He also played university soccer and football in the United States. He currently flies a 737 for Turkish Airlines.

This former national pole-vaulting champion helped introduce the sport of mountain biking in Turkey. Gursel lead the first team to cross the Kackar Mountain Range, and helped organize the first real mountain bike race in the country. He also completed the first ascent of Mt. Erciyes by bicycle. Gursel has summitted Mt. Ararat, as well as many other Turkish peaks. He currently runs a mountain biking center in Turkey.
