Noel Hanna and Timmy Flavin were members of last year's Team North/South, the first Irish team to finish an Eco-Challenge. Ian Cummings, the team's youngest member and Eco-Challenge's youngest competitor, is just 19. Noel doesn't have any special diet to prepare for the race, but he is partial to beer and Chinese food.

Ian is this year's youngest competitor at the age of 19, but he brings an incredible amount of experience to the team. Kayaking, rock climbing, and windsurfing are just a few of the pursuits in which Ian both participates and teaches. He also enjoys running, water skiing, surfing, and wakeboarding.

Timmy has extensive experience in canoeing, having paddled to most of the islands of Ireland, the Western islands of Scotland and the Shetland islands. He is a regular snow and ice climber with numerous trips throughout the Alps and Scotland. He has taken many mountaineering courses, and enjoys rock climbing, running, squash and cycling. Timmy is a canoe instructor, and competes in orienteering and in Challenger events (team multi-sport races).
