KILLINGTON, VT — With the Family Fun Center at Rams Head as its anchor, Killington Resort, the largest ski and snowboard resort in the East, is gearing up for a Presidents' Vacation Week packed with activities and programs for parents and children of all ages. In addition, a 30 percent increase in snowmaking capacity because of a pipeline connection to nearby Woodward Reservoir, will allow Killington to offer nearly 100 percent open terrain across its seven mountain areas with reliable snow surfaces.

"We’re looking forward to a fun, snow-filled holiday week in February," said Gillis Lynn, vice president of sales and marketing for Killington. "Guests to the Resort will find incredible snow surfaces plus a plethora of activities and programs for a fun week on and off the slopes. The week is a wonderful way for parents to enjoy time with their kids in an outdoor environment, and this year promises to be the best February holiday week in many years."

A welcome party kicks off the week on Monday at Rams Head with magician Tom Joyce, light snacks and conversation with locals, employees and guests. Other free activities during the week include Meet the Mountain Tours, Perfect Turn Flag Parades, an ice cream sundae party, a raffle for a groomer ride, horse drawn sleigh rides, family fun nights with a puppet show, rock climbing and Hasbro Game night, and a fun slalom. Saturday and Wednesday nights of the holiday week guests can enjoy a colorful fireworks display at the Snowshed base area.

Wednesday night guests can enjoy dinner high atop 4,241-foot Killington Peak at the Peak Restaurant. The K-1 Express Gondola carries guests to dinner from 6 - 8 p.m., and the buffet is $40/adults and $20/juniors. Children under five eat free. Prices include a round-trip ride on the gondola. Reservations are required by calling 802-422-6780.
