SALT LAKE CITY -- Skiers and snowboarders who visit Salt Lake during the 2002/03 season will be rewarded with easy access to the Greatest Snow on Earth and a brand new multi-area lift voucher. The pass is good for day passes at Alta Ski Area, Brighton Resort, Solitude Mountain Resort and Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort. With the convenience of the Ski Salt Lake Super Pass, visitors can take even greater advantage of Salt Lake's 35-minute proximity to four of the world's greatest mountains.

"The Salt Lake resorts are teaming up to give travelers the most convenient access to Utah's best skiing," said Eric Thompson, director of winter sports tourism for the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau. The four Salt Lake resorts each receive 500 inches of snow every year, more than any other resort in Utah, Colorado, California or Canada. Together, they provide a total of 6,750 skiable acres served by 33 lifts. They are also closer to a major airport and metropolitan area than any other resorts in the West.

"In terms of convenience, it's already hard to top Salt Lake's access. But this Super Pass makes it even easier for destination skiers to choose Salt Lake for their next vacation," Thompson said. Travelers on either coast can take early flights and be on the slopes of the Ski Salt Lake resorts by noon. Salt Lake's airport is just nine miles from the city and 35 miles from the Salt Lake resorts. The Salt Lake area is home to more than 1.6 million people and offers all the amenities of a big city, including 17,000 rooms in hotels, lodges and inns as well as hundreds of clubs, pubs, bars, and restaurants.

The day pass will be sold to guests at participating hotels and lodges in Park City and Salt Lake, and will cost less than any of the Salt Lake resort's individual lift passes. Skiers and boarders redeem the pass at ticket windows of participating resorts for a day pass at the resort of their choice. Additional multi-area passes, which allow skiing at two or more resorts on the same day, are also available directly from each of the Salt Lake resorts. For a complete listing of area hotels offering the Super Pass, contact the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau.

"Salt Lake has more to offer than any other mountain destination in North America," said Thompson, "Salt Lake is as close to the mountains as many smaller ski villages, but we also have all the advantages of a metropolitan area, including easy access by air. In fact we are the only ski town in the world with our own NBA franchise and professional symphony. When you add value, snow quality, variety of terrain at different resorts, and city amenities, it's easy to see why Salt Lake is often called the world's most perfect winter destination."
