Tuesday, October 08, 2002

Snowbird, Utah -- Customer Appreciation Day has been extended to two days this year - Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12-13.

This fund-raiser for the Utah Food Bank includes a BBQ on the Plaza Deck, live music from noon to 3 p.m. and a can of food gets you on the Tram from noon to 4 p.m. (one can per rider). Mr. Whoopie will perform at the Snowbird Center Saturday and Uptown Hustlers will play Sunday.

Snowbird recently received nearly 2 feet of new snow atop Hidden Peak, making for spectacular scenery with fall foliage contrasted against the white snow. Snowbird is scheduled to open for the 2002-03 season Nov. 23.

Snowbird will offer three new and expanded terrain parks for the 2002-03 season as well as guided cat skiing and snowmobile tours in the Miller Hill area of Mineral Basin.

For more information, call the Snowbird Events Hotline at (801) 933-2110 or go to www.snowbird.com. For media information, contact Dave Fields at (801) 933-2041.

Located 29 miles from Salt Lake City International Airport, Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort is North America's most accessible year-round resort.
