Saturday, September 29,2002

BOULDER, CO, September 18, 2002 -- Spyder Active Sports is seeking applicants for its newly formed Venom House Team. This group of skiers and snowboarders from across North America will represent Spyder's Venom brand of freeride outerwear at regional levels. The team's purpose is to promote freeriding at local, grassroots levels, where a passion for the sport is strong and enthusiasm is contagious.

Freeriders of all skill levels are invited to submit a resume, proposal, video footage, or any form of sponsorship request for consideration. Written submissions are accepted through October 31, 2002. The program goes into effect December 1, 2002, and members are on the team for one season. Spyder will contact chosen team members via phone and post the team roster December 1 on www.spyder.com. Each House Team member will receive a Venom product sponsorship, and one team member will have the chance to be sent to a summer freeriding camp in 2003. Full details of the program are found on www.spyder.com.

Spyder is an Official Supplier to the US Alpine, US Disabled, Canadian Alpine, and Canadian Freestyle Ski Teams. The brand also supports Team Venom, a troupe of freeskiers and riders who have their own contractual terms with gravity. Based in Boulder, Colorado, the company sells high performance outerwear and sportswear in the United States and Canada. Spyder is sold in 40 countries outside of North America through the Spyder-Europe office in Zug, Switzerland, and through independent distributors around the world. The company's mantra comes from president David Jacobs: "Athletes and competition always have been and always will be Spyder's soul."
