KETCHUM, Idaho, July 25, 2002 -- Smith Sport Optics has announced two unique additions to its diverse collection of sunglasses. The Folsom is an aggressive new entry in Smith's versatile Carbonic Series, while the Union, with its retro styling, slides smoothly into the Street Series.

For the tough guy in all of us, the Folsom is ideal for medium size faces and larger size egos. It incorporates high quality distortion-free Carbonic lenses, durable Grilamid frames, lightweight hinge design, hydrophilic Megol nose pads, 100% UVA and UVB protection and wrap shape to minimize the effects of wind, snow and glare. Light weight, durability, optical clarity and impact resistance are trademarks of Smith's Carbonic Series. The Folsom will be introduced in four frame colors/lens tints including Black or Crystal Blue with True Color Gray TG15 lenses and Satin Orange or Graphite with Sienna Brown SB18 lenses.

The Union combines large coverage with retro styling for medium size faces and shares the blend of fashion and function known to Smith's Street Series. Handmade frames with adjustable wire-core temples provide custom fit and long lasting comfort. The Union features distortion-free CR39 lenses for reduced weight and optical precision. Frame and lens colors available include Black or Seaweed with True Color Gray TG15 lenses, Tortoise with Sienna Brown SB18 lenses and Crystal Blue with TG15 lenses.

Both models retail for $70.00 and are scheduled for July availability.
