Wednesday, July 17, 2002

Santa Barbara, CA -- With many years of hard work under her belt, Kate Larramendy is now focusing on what she enjoys most - surfing, traveling, and creative work opportunities. An outdoor industry apparel veteran, Kate approached Horny Toad with an unconventional but mutually beneficial partnership. Larramendy has become an official "mentor" to the Toad Team, sharing her expertise and experience and helping direct the 10 year-old company as they grow their product line and brand.

Larramendy's work experience and life-philosophy have proven to be a great match for the evolving Horny Toad. Kate's experience includes many years as the Director of Product Design and Development for Patagonia and more recently working as design consultant with Mountain Hardware, a role she continues to enjoy and expand. Larramendy is an advocate of balancing functional, innovative designs with aesthetics and unique use of color. Horny Toad - clothes you can play in - focuses their design on similar principals. On a personal level, Kate brings a light, fun energy and a fresh eye to Horny Toad.

The partnership between Horny Toad and Larramendy has been a success for a variety of reasons. Larramendy says she was "attracted to Horny Toad because of the soul and spirit of the company. They make cool stuff that works well - and they have fun while doing it. The company is small and growing and presents tremendous possibilities that are very appealing to me." Horny Toad President Gordon Seabury feels fortunate to have developed this relationship with Larramendy. "Kate's experience provides an incredible backdrop for our company to draw from. Her creative energy and insight is a great resource and adds spice to our office environment."

Horny Toad will soon introduce their Spring 2003 line, Playclothes inspired by the outdoors. For more information on Horny Toad go to www.hornytoad.com or call 800-865-TOAD.
