Tuesday, May 14, 2002

May 1, 2002 -- Jackson, Wyoming. Cloudveil, a leading manufacturer of technical mountain apparel, continues to flourish with over 30% growth in Fall 2002 pre-season sales. Known for its pioneering role in the soft shell market, Cloudveil cites an expanded product offering, increased national and international distribution, and the continued supply of clean, forward-thinking designs that appeal to core mountain users.

"Overall, the gains are a combination of increased sales in our apparel line, the successful launch of our glove line, and expanded distribution," explains VP and Co -Founder Stephen Sullivan. "Domestic business increased significantly and sales in Japan and Canada continue to be strong. We also recently debuted our product line in the United Kingdom and Korea," Sullivan continues. "Complementing solid, double-digit growth in apparel, our glove sales vastly exceeded projections for Fall 2002. We see continued opportunity for growth in our primary sector, outdoor specialty retail, with additional opportunities to expand in adjacent markets. For example, the glove line opened new doors for Cloudveil in the competitive alpine ski/snowboard market."

The Cloudveil glove launch included 12 styles ranging from lightweight gloves to expedition mitts. The line includes specific women and menšs styles for nordic, backcountry, alpine skiing and snowboarding, as well as ice climbing and mountaineering. "Wešve integrated the performance aspects of numerous soft shell and stretch waterproof breathable fabrics into our glove designs. The result is technical handwear that is both functional and comfortable in a wide range of temperatures and conditions," states Melanie Kirol, Director of Product Management. "Watch for us to continue to pursue and incorporate new fabric technologies in future designs."

Cloudveil is a youthful, forward thinking, outdoor apparel manufacturer based in Jackson, Wyoming, that has received critical acclaim for their innovative use of fabric combinations and design, including pioneering the soft shell category of technical apparel.
