Kneissl Rail Boot
Combination of inner boot, soft shell and the stabilizing frame
Thursday, April 18, 2002

Inner Boot/liner:
The soft inner boot ensures comfortable form fit, the "Easy Lace Up System" provides perfect support. The soft-touch sole insert, and the soft lycra shaft collar in the ladies version, guarantee comfort during skiing.

Soft Shell:
The shell is a custom made cockpit for the inner boot and supports the comfortable form fit. In addition, it provides protection against moisture and serves as additional insulation. Opening the Power Band and the sealing flap permits easy and comfortable entry and exit: the instep volume is substantially larger than in conventional ski boots. Most important, there are no shell parts in the front of boot or on top of the foot.

Frame:
To stabilize the foot, an open lower shell is connected to the open upper cuff. Strategically placed power zones, together with the new "Direct Impulse System" (DTI) assure a progressive power transfer to the ski. During forward flex the force is automatically and directly transferred to the ski. The frame is made of a high quality, fiberglass-reinforced polyamid.

DTI- SYSTEM:
The upper- and under- part of the frame are one functional element due to the rail fixation on both sides. If the upper- part leans forward an automatic power transfer results, passing through the joints and directly to the sole and to the ski. The progressive impulse- transfer is controlled by a spring called "Rail" in the back part of the boot. The rail is alloyed by high- quality chrome and nickel and is extremely resistant.

The use of new materials together with an understanding of skiers' needs made it possible for the developers at Kneissl to create an absolute revolution. The combination of ultimate comfort and perfect performance brings about a new age in the development of ski boots.

A softboot with comfortable, soft form-fit liner, a custom-made cockpit soft shell and the patented DTI make the Rail the forerunner for a new generation. The comfort characteristics of the Rail are supported by perfectly placed power zones. The Direct Impulse System provides progressive power transfer. Through its optimal form fit and the synergy of the components, a progressive power transfer to the ski is attained.

Even in low temperatures, the Rail allows easy entry and exit. All the sensitive areas of the foot are supported in a soft material that ensures 100% form-fit. Optimum support of the inner boot is enabled by the Easy Lace Up system specially developed for the softboot.

It's long been demanded by skiers,
but only Kneissl has delivered it:
Rail, the perfect alpine softboot.
