Ortovox Plays It Safe
Avalance safety products for Spring conditions.
Tuesday, March 26, 2002

The 2001/2002 winter sport season started early - and with a bang. Now spring conditions are just around the corner. But it's never too early to prepare for that first run in the fall.

The March 5th Wall Street Journal reported that outdoor activities are growing in popularity and they've never been safer. Thanks to the ORTOVOX Avalanche Safety System, enthusiasts are safely leaving tracks in virgin powder - worldwide!

ORTOVOX Avalanche Transceivers are used by more professionals in North America and Europe than any other units. And now ORTOVOX has the most complete range of transceivers on the market. The recently introduced x1 digital avalanche transceiver has a range double that of other digital transceivers on the market and provides the most efficient multiple burial rescue scenario in the industry. The industry-standard, analog f1 focus features the longest search range in the industry and the m2 combines digital and analog technology for the easiest-to-use mid-range avalanche transceiver.

But avalanche safety doesn't stop with transceivers. The ORTOVOX Avalanche Safety System also includes these new items:

Expert II Shovel (designed for professionals with a thick, aluminum/magnesium alloy blade for superior strength and capacity). The new Professional Aluminum Shovel is so new, it didn't make it into the catalog. This aluminum shovel is similar in size to the Professional, but with an aggressive blade design like the Expert II. Both shovel blades have a lifetime warranty.

Pro Steel Avalanche Probes (constructed of stainless steel and featuring a unique, new quick lock system and an adjustable/repairable steel cable).

Safety equipment nestles into the plastic Safety Plate, which then fits easily into an ORTOVOX backpack, providing additional support. In an emergency, it can be used as a sled.

Entirely new line of Backpacks designed with comfort and versatility in mind. The new "Rider" line includes the smallest, body-hugging packs possible, yet still includes compartments for all the safety equipment necessary.

These new avalanche safety products, detailed in the latest catalog, will be available in early fall.

Be prepared! Play safe!
