Lange's revolutionary Rear Release System (RRS TM) ski boot is taking the skiing market place by storm, winning the Innovation Award as the Product of the Future, and gaining consent from medical experts worldwide, who say that the safety innovation will dramatically reduce the risk of knee injuries.

TUV Product Service, the world's foremost product safety testing facility in Germany tested the RRS system and concluded, "The loading of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament was reduced by almost 30 percent due to the RRS system."

With knee injuries rising by 300 percent over the last 25 years and now representing half of all skiing injuries, the development of the RRS proves that Lange has met the ACL challenge head-on, and will continue to study ways to reduce loads to the knee.

"Although Lange is known world-wide for its dominant racing results, we are focusing a lot of our resources on the RRS safety innovation and bringing it to more boot models at lower price points," says Alpine Product Manager, Tait Wardlaw.

Lange has updated the RRS line by releasing the new V8 for men and the V8L for women, which mirror the quality, impressive design and safety of the original V9 boot, proving Lange's reputation as the #1 boot in skiing yet again.

The future of the boot is important according to Jim Williams, M.D. and former U.S. Ski Team coach. "I'll bet over time that it does lead to a reduction in ACL injuries."
