Snowkiting in the Alps
I can tell you, I am really enjoying my winter!!! After 2 weeks of practicing in Brazil I went back to Maui and did not kite much. I went to Yoga classes almost every day, watched a lot of movies and spent time with my friends there. I even wanted to stay longer and change my flight date, but unfortunately could not. So I had to leave the island before end of the year. We took the chance to celebrate New Year’s Eve with our friends in Switzerland and it was fabulous. We built snowmen, went to the toboggan run, partied until late night and just enjoyed ourselves in the snow – a very special experience and very special New Year’s for me!
A couple of days later I was already on my way to South Africa, to visit my friend (and former World Cup Rider) Petra Goeschl and to practice some new moves. Also there I had a great time. I had fun together with Petra, met nice people, went kiting almost every day. But after 3 weeks I had to leave again. The BOOT show and the ISPO in Germany took part end of January and finally I had to work again. The German Kite Magazine had asked me to sign some magazines at their stand, for the VDWS I gave some interviews on stage and in-between all that I had some meetings with my sponsors. It was quiet a stressful time - especially because I am so not used to loud noises and a lot of people in big halls, but I could catch many flies with the same stroke and after 10 days I had done so much work that I could take a couple days off again.
I went back home to Berlin and spent some time with family and friends and got ready for my next trip: snow kiting in Switzerland. And here I am right now – in the middle of the Swiss snowy Alps! Now we only need some wind, blue sky and powder to take some nice shots for our sponsor JN… so let’s hope and wait!
